Ciaran Forth
A live brief set by International Society of Typographic Design asking for students to produce an outcome that demonstrated an eyewitness account of a significant event in time.
In response to this brief, I decided to produce a book that celebrated the significance of graphic designer Ken Garland. I collected a range of words and quotes from ex-colleagues, which allowed the book to take on an eyewitness account of what it was like to work in the studio with such a character.
In the publication, I chose to channel a modern approach that considered Ken Garlands style. I demonstrated this through the use of bright colours and brave imagery.

Self Promotion
For my self promotion I wanted to project a modern aesthetic that considered Black as the primary theme throughout. My business cards use a spot gloss finish that was achieved through print company MOO.
My design in the promotional material is intended to reflect my ethos of slick, clean and bold. If interested in receiving any of the design showed in these photographs I am happy to send out a complimentary package.

Teach the Beat -
University Final Major Project
Teach the Beat is in an application that I designed for my Final Major Project throughout my final year at University. The brief allowed me to be very flexible and choose an area of study that I had interest in. I chose to do my project on drums as I have a passion for music and drumming as well as design. After in-depth research surrounding drum culture, I was able to come up with the idea of an app that helped existing and aspiring drummers with practicing and learning new drum beats.
In my design, I channeled a modern and simple interface that could reach an audience of all ages and nationalities. By considering how we visualize sound and beats as humans, allowed me to use colour and shapes to determine an easy to use and innovative drumming app.
